Carbon credits come in many types, AICO2 is here to help:

1. European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) Carbon Credits: The EU ETS is the largest greenhouse gas emissions trading scheme in the world, with all EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Companies within this scheme must hold a certain amount of carbon credits corresponding to their emissions.
2. California Carbon Credits: These credits are traded under the cap-and-trade system administered by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).  
3. Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs): The ACCU is a unit of trade in the Australian carbon market. Each ACCU represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2-e).
4. New Zealand Units (NZUs): These are the principal units of trade in the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (NZ ETS). They are issued by the government to entities that undertake activities that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
5. Korean Allowance Units (KAUs): These credits are traded in the Korean Emissions Trading Scheme, which was launched by South Korea to cap and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its major emitting sectors.
6. Chinese Certified Emission Reduction (CCERs): China's national emissions trading scheme is one of the largest in the world and utilizes CCERs as the units of trade.
7. Aviation Industry Offset: This type of carbon credit applies to the aviation industry, where international airlines purchase offsets to neutralize their carbon footprint.
8. Nature-Based Offsets: These credits are generated from projects that naturally sequester carbon dioxide, such as reforestation, agroforestry, or habitat restoration efforts.
